About Us
Lilly & Jose Nettikaden Foundation is a non-profitable charity organization involved in helping poor and needy people to make a positive difference in their lives. The Foundation aimed ‘to contribute to satisfy the basic needs for a better life of the less privileged classes.’ The Foundation started with this sole purpose and is determined to make a positive difference in different areas like health care, education, response to disasters and better living of the poor and needy.
This is a family trust started by Mrs.& Mr. Jose Nettikaden along with their offspring Mrs. Mini George, Mr. Miju Jose & Mr. Mibu Jose who all had the passion to render services to the society.
Founder & History
Mr. Jose was born on July 13, 1931 to Mr. Kunjuvareed and Ms. Mariakutty at Meloor, Thrissur. He was the second child among their 10 and belonged to one of the biggest farmer’s family of Meloor during that time. Like his Father Kunjuvareed, Mr. Jose was a philanthropist and Ms. Lilly also shared the same desire to do good work. Ms. Lilly was the 4 th child of Parokaran family who stood beside Mr. Jose by motivating and supporting him in every social activity. She too served as a leader in many community organizations and inspired others to join her.
Mr. Jose & Ms. Lilly have 3 children, eldest daughter Ms. Mini Nettikaden is married to Dr. George (Pediatrician)- Dr. Kichu & Architect Neema are their offspring. Second son Mr. Miju Jose Nettikaden working as LIC Branch Manager is married to Cherupanath Mini from Kadukutty – Arsha & Jose are their kids. Finally, youngest son Mr. Mibu Jose Nettikaden, a Civil Engineer, turned into businessman who owns several ventures in Qatar,UAE &INDIA, is married to Ms. Alli who hails from Mamoottil house Changanacherry – Megha & Rose are their daughters.
In 1953, Mr. Jose Nettikaden started his career by working for Jai Bharat Insurance Company. In 1956, when LIC came into existence, Mr. Jose started working there as a full time employee. He was the President of India Life Insurance Employees Association from 1985 to the time of his retirement in 1991. Moreover, for a long period he was the President of Ernakulam Retired Employees. In 1979, he became a member of Y’s Men club and simultaneously he is the secretary & president of the club. During that time he bagged the Best President Award, National and International award as well as he was the district Governor for one year as well.
Mr. Jose & Mrs. Lilly Nettikaden were efficient and benevolent individuals under whose gifted leadership, the foundation was established itself credibly in the humanitarian field.
Social Activities & Achievements:
• Mr. Jose instituted the Senior Health Care Management to serve the elder needs in a holistic manner, enabling them to live active, dignified and healthier lives.
• He also commenced the Eye Donation Pledge. He was the first person to initiate the Eye Donation Awareness boards in Ernakulam district in order to create alertness among people.
• Mr. Jose also elevated attentiveness among people through traffic awareness boards.
• In the year 1977, Mr. Jose and Ms. Lilly reinforced Rev. Fr. Jacob Erranatti for the Teams of our Lady, an international lay movement in the Catholic Church, offered to couples throughout the world in order to enrich marriage spirituality and make good marriages better. During the International meet in Lourdes, Mr. Jose and Ms. Lilly were the representatives from Ernakulam, Cochin, India.
• Moreover, he also served the poor and affected people in road accidents via Kochi City Action Force by providing free legal aid camp. He started the Y’s Men’s week to enlighten people.
• With the support of Federal Bank, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Bharat Petroleum and Indian Oil Corporation, he was able to establish over 300 aids awareness boards in the society.
• Furthermore, he also worked as a preacher, counselor & an intercessor in Mangalapuram seminary for over 37 years.
• For over 4 years, he was one of the active board members of Cochin Kalabhavan, who encouraged the youngsters in several cultural activities.
